Install Cosafe Desktop App

Information for users on PC or Mac

Overview

The Cosafe Desktop App is designed for users who prefer accessing Cosafe on a computer. It offers the same functionality as the mobile application, enabling you to send and receive alerts and messages directly from your computer.

Compatibility

  • Windows: Compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit) and later versions.
  • Mac: Compatible with macOS 10.13 and later versions.

Features

  • Automatic startup with your computer, remaining visible in the taskbar.
  • Sound notifications for alerts (ensure your computer's sound is enabled).

Installation

  1. For Windows users

    • Open the App Store and search for "Cosafe Desktop App."
    • Click "Get" to download and install the app.

Logging in

  1. Open the Cosafe Desktop App.
  2. Enter your username (email address) and password.
  3. Click "Log in" to start using Cosafe.

Transitioning from Cosafe Warning System

If you previously used the Cosafe Warning System, follow these steps to switch to the Cosafe Desktop App:

  1. Install the Cosafe Desktop App (see installation instructions above).
  2. Log in with your username and password.
  3. Perform a self-test by navigating to the "Test Alarm" feature in the menu.
  4. Confirm that the self-test works correctly.
  5. Once confirmed, uninstall the Cosafe Warning System from your computer.

Updating the app

Keep your Cosafe Desktop App updated to the latest version:

  • Manual updates

  • IT-Managed updates

    • If your IT department manages updates, contact them for assistance.

Troubleshooting

If you're experiencing issues with the alarm function:

  1. Ensure your computer's sound is enabled.
  2. Check that the app is active in the system tray/taskbar.
  3. Verify that notifications for the app are not disabled in your computer's system settings.
  4. Confirm that your computer is not in a locked state, as Cosafe cannot wake a locked computer.
