Introduction

This guide provides comprehensive instructions on integrating Skolon with Cosafe for Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication. Skolon is a popular platform used by educational institutions to manage digital tools and resources. Integrating Skolon with Cosafe allows users to access the Cosafe platform using their existing Skolon credentials, making the login process seamless and secure.

This guide covers the entire integration process, including configuring Skolon settings, connecting accounts, and managing invitations. By following these steps, administrators can ensure that all users within their organization have smooth access to Cosafe without additional login credentials.

Prerequisites​

Before initiating the integration, ensure the following:

  • Administrative access: You have administrative rights to modify integration settings in both Cosafe and Skolon.
  • SFTP import disabled: If you're currently using SFTP for user imports in Cosafe, be aware that Skolon and SFTP imports cannot be used simultaneously. You'll need to disable SFTP import settings before proceeding.

Configuring Skolon integration in Cosafe​

Follow these steps to set up the Skolon integration:

  1. Log in to the Admin panel

    • Access the Admin panel at admin.cosafe.com.
    • Click on your Account page from the navigation bar.

  2. Navigate to the integration tab:

    • Select the Integration tab to view available integration options.

  3. Select Skolon as the Sign-On provider:

    • Enable SSO (Single Sign On)
    • In the dropdown menu, choose Sign-On provider (Skolon).

  4. Initiate Skolon configuration:

    • Click on the link labeled "Click here" to start the Skolon configuration process.
    • This action will redirect you to the Skolon login page.
    • Enter your Skolon email and password to authenticate.

  5. Connect accounts:

    • Once authenticated, link your Cosafe account (and any subaccounts) to the corresponding Skolon organization.
    • Cosafe's integration tool allows the addition of multiple Skolon organizations by selecting the appropriate checkboxes.

You can structure your account by connecting Skolon schools either to the main account or to specific subaccounts, depending on your organizational needs.

Managing user invitations​

To automatically send email invitations to users imported from Skolon:

  1. Enable automatic invitations:
    • Within the integration settings, activate the setting labeled "Send invitation emails to newly imported users automatically".
    • This ensures that all new users imported via Skolon receive an email invitation to access Cosafe.

Troubleshooting and best practices​

  • Verify integration settings: Ensure that the correct Skolon account and subaccounts are connected.
  • Enable automatic invitations: Simplifies onboarding by automatically inviting new users imported from Skolon.
  • Keep credentials secure: Ensure that Skolon credentials used during integration are kept secure and managed appropriately.
